Bush fires in Australia aren't contained in one particular spot. They can be anywhere all over Australia and at any time of the year, but mainly in summer because of the heat. The reason that they mainly happen in summer is for the obvious reason that it is hot and dry in summer, the grasses are dead and there is less rain to put the fires out naturally. Hotter winds in summer also fans fires, making them spread and get bigger quicker.
If anywhere in Australia had to be listed as having the most fires it would be Western Australia. The reason that Western Australia would have the most fires in Australia is because it is very hot, but it does not have many cyclones come through unlike Northern Territory. Western Australia is the only state in Australia that can have a bush fire all year round. This is another reason that Western Australia has the most fires in Australia. Also there is many many bush fires in South Australia because it is very hot.
